Hey guys, i have a couple questions about setting up my suspension. I'm running RC Component Czar Eclipse 21 and 18 rear. Talked to progressive on the phone today any they recommended 2" drop in the front, and 1" drop in the rear.
Anyone running a similar setup, i'm throwing around the idea of just throwing a lowering kit on the rear or maybe bitchin baggers 11", also thinking about the monotubes or the drop in springs. Just looking on some feedback and reviews. Thanks guys
Had the 21/18 combo on my 08 SG. Never lowered it from stock. The stretched bags will be more prone to dragging along with the floorboards if you lower both ends. I did do the DIY rear air ride for "the look" when parked.
Why do you want to lower it? How does it ride as it is now? I have monotubes here for 97-2013 bikes for a screaming deal along with a few different varieties of their rear shocks.
Personally I do not like to lower my bikes but I have always benefited from upgraded suspension. An 800 lb bike can certainly ride a lot better than it does stock.
It rides alright, I would like it to ride better. My father in law just got a progressive suspension upgrade on his wide glide and loved it. I Would like a better ride mostly in the front, I plan on putting a klockwerks wrap front fender in the next couple months. I also like the lowered look but mostly for ride handling. I didn't take measurements but I feel like the bike is higher than stock even with the extended bags.
I'm running a 21" front wheel - progressive mono-tube stock height in the front forks, stock 16" rear wheel with 13" JRI shocks in the back - love the ride & the clearance in the twisty's ...
I lowered the front 1 inch with a 21/18 combo. Stock shocks on the back. Been kicking around the idea of ohlins shocks from Howard for awhile but don't have the fun money side job anymore.. Bike has always felt good until I had started to realize that stock shocks are not very comfortable anymore. My sig pic and my garage show how it sits.
