I think its time for project King Glide
The issue you will want to be concerned with is the fairing mounts. They changed in 2010 to move the fairing up/forward, allowing for the use of regular vented fairing lowers, like all the other touring bikes use. Prior to that, the RGs had different fairing lowers.
The mounts include the central frame mount, and the left/right crash bar mounts. You cannot mix and match these mounts, so pick either 2010+ or 2009 and lower.
As for the tank, there will be no issues.
Now, if you wanted to get really creative, you could physically mount up a Rushmore RG fairing. The problem will then be what gauges do you use? The old pre-canbus (pre-Rushmore) gauges won't fit that fairing, and the new canbus (Rushmore) gauges won't work with the old wiring scheme on the 2013 and below bikes.
I have a buddy's 2006 E-Glide Classic (that is now a Road Glide Classic!) in my garage with the guts pulled out. Inner tensioner was busted in half, and the outer tensioner was gone, busted into pieces. We're doing the full upgrade and parts should be here Monday!

So you are telling me I can buy a used 6 gallon tank and it will mount right onto my frame? Or do I need to stick to a 5 gallon tank from 97-07?
Also I think I will be using the Hells Fury adjustable mount. I am about 6'3" and I think It will allow me to adjust the fairing setup just the way I need it. Also I will be using some of the hidden fairing supports so I don't need to use a crash bar. If I decide down the road to and add the vented lowers then I will do that at that time.
As far as the cam chest goes I have that all planned out. S&S TC3 cam plate and oil pump, Reaper 525 conversion cams, red shift dual piston hydraulic cam chain tensioners, S&S Quikee pushrods, S&S high performance tappets, Torrington cam bearings and the new sprockets and roller chains needed to perform the rest of the upgrade. I put a lot of time into planning that out and now its onto the fairing haha.
In order to add a 6 gallon tank to your ride, you have to do some extensive mods. There is a thread or two about it with the details. It's not a straight swap though, I do know that.
That's a nice looking fairing though, should be pretty cool. And your cam upgrade list is solid too!

As for the tank that is what I thought, I may look into a stretched tank that will fit my bike but then I will have to get a custom seat and that limits options. This won't be a show bike, this will be a daily rider. I love my Danny Gray butt crack solo for daily riding and am looking into a Le Pera Maverick Daddy Long Legs for my long distance rides. So that is about the last major decision I have to make.
