Back in about 06/07 My 2004 shocks were also beating the wife up... Called Progressive and their CS was like talking to a Brick - wtf ??
Called Works performance - CS MUCH better - They talked to me, answered all my questions. Wanted to know our Riding weight - Weight of our Luggage when traveling.. This took some work - but with those numbers, they built us a shock that had a good pre-load and the shock had three different settings - riding alone - with a passanger and one when fully loaded... We were happy..
Sold that bike in Aug - got a 2015 - will be ordering another set next month - wont even bother calling Progressive ... BTW - got the Progressive Spring kit for my front end - decent price through BoardtrackerHD - Called because part of the Inst were missing??? LOL > That same BRICK was still working there... was confused as to why the inst was missing a page,,, ask for my number - promised to call me right back - Told him I was at my Indy's place and we needed that info.. Well, that was two weeks ago... still no call,
Do you own homework and go with who fits you best..
BTW - 12" shocks are for bikes that want to look Cool - 13" shocks are for bikes that like to keep 'Mamma" happy, lol - MY .02 here
I'm going to try out the Super Shox, they offer a 30 day money back guarantee, so I will put them on and see what I think. I figured that would a no brainer and they look like they should work just fine. I will post my results when I have them on. Should be here Friday.
I received the Super Shox on Friday and installed the on Saturday morning. I initially set to the setting for just me, at 180 lbs, I put them on the #1 setting and took it for a ride. I first noticed that I didn't really feel the man holes when I rode over them like I did before. I took it for about a 5 mile ride on the highway, it rode as good or better then it did before as far as highway handling, a few bumps I hit weren't even noticeable, I used to try and avoid bumps, but I found my self looking for them to see how it handled them. I have them set to #4 setting now and will be taking the little lady for a ride later today, this will be the big test, since she is the main reason I did this. Will let you know what her review is after that. Overall, I'm pleased with the quality of the shocks, the look is very nice, even though you can't see them. The adjustments are easy to make, I do have the lean the bag forward to get to the shock to turn them. They do sit about a 1/2 inch shorter then before, so I am liking that as well, since I'm only 5'8" when on my tip toes.
I have a street glide with whatever length Harley saw fit for it. Per another members suggestion we went with 7.5 weight oil from a jap bike store and 25lbs air. me 200. her 125. made enough of a difference we don't feel desperate to fix right now.
