I have had issues with the thumb drive music on this bike since day one. It 'locks" and displays the song. No music. It may start working after a quick stop' or may work the next day. I have used other devices and had the same thing happen. I have used the same stick through the last several updates.
The radio has poor reception. My 13yr old minivan with 250k miles has a radio that should embarrass Harley.
Question: Does Harley have to correct "updates"? Is it up to me to find out about known flaws while I'm on the road?
I live in NW Wisconsin and my warranty is over before next season. Leaves are falling and were pretty much done for the year.
27k miles on bike. It ain't like I haven't some time in the saddle on this bike.
Thanks for your reply.
I have had it updated by a dealer several times. The whole unit was replaced last season. I had a thumb drive from the dealer that was totally compatible.
My thumb drive "locked" as it does. I stopped for fuel and removed mine. I restarted and parked to have a cold drink. I installed the dealers drive when I left and it saw the USB, but when selected it didn't recognize it.
Dealer says its my thumb drive.
I don't get it. I have spent more money on this bike than my first home (the first one that did'nt have wheels under it).
PS Im new to this forum thing. I hope Im doin it right.
What else do you have on that USB drive? What size is the drive? What format is it? What format is your music?
It displays the song info but doesn't play? Are you sure it's not playing or is it just that you can't hear it playing? If it advances to a new song title after a period of time (many minutes, not a few seconds), then it is playing, even if you can't hear it.
