Meeting up with old Army brothers staying in Cave Creek looking to rent a bike for week any ideas where to go....
Call Buddy Stubbs HD, I reserved a bike for the Laughlin Bike Run in April and they saved me $100 from what Eagle riders wanted to charge, with unlimited miles. Eagle riders wanted to charge me per mile after a predetermined miles which is BS. They shouldn't be too far from where your going to be.
I second the Coronado Trail, Hwy 191 (ex-666). Great ride. You can stay overnight at Hannagan Meadow, B&B about half way. You'll be at altitude is some areas, take appropriate clothing this time of year.
Best place to rent is Scottsdale HD. If nothing else make sure you visit, it's the Mecca of HD dealers.
I rented from Hacienda. I heard they went belly-up, but I just looked at Google Maps, and the location of this Scottsdale HD looks pretty close to where Hacienda was. (It was 2010. Don't remember Hacienda's address.) Same place, different name maybe?

Thanks man great info! Gotta find a dealer to rent a SG I hope or whatever is available. Is there a better HD dealer in the area?
Look at my post up above, #15, about where I rented mine, but I'm sure there are plenty of places out there. Also, at home, I was riding an 09 EG Classic when I went out there. I was thinking about trading up to an Ultra anyway, so I reserved an Ultra. I ended up getting a Classic when I got there. All the Ultras were either out or in the shop. The guy told me that alot of people who are riding lighter bikes at home, rent Ultras for their ride around AZ, but with no heavy bike experience, they sometimes get dumped --- even in their parking lot. Hope they can give you what you reserve. Check the weather too. I was out there in May of 2010, and on 80 between the south rim & Flagstaff, there was snow on the ground. Not on the road, but quite alot left, pretty close to the road, and it was downright cold before I got to Flagstaff. Of course, it got a whole lot warmer as I went south!
Across the street. Hacienda was horrible, apples n oranges. Bought out 3 years ago, best dealer I have ever dealt with. Pretty sure its the largest dealer in the world
Hacienda was owned by Hatch- who have a large group of auto and m/c shops in the southwest
the new shop is owned by the go-daddy guy.
neither of these is/was the kind of shop where you'll see the same staff 2 trips in a row.
some choose not to support his business model, some do.
there are a number of rental agencies, call around for rates and coverages.
both scottsdale harley and az h-D are about the same distance from the town of cave creek

Going in January if I can get out lol if we have another winter like last year here then who knows. I ride a SG not a fan of Ultra or RG and I don't want to be uncomfortable so maybe a RK or Hertiage with bags. I'm gonna call around see what I can get. I'm staying in Cave Creek for 12-14 days so if bike not avaible right away maybe the second week it will be I hope. I hav'nt been anywhere since 07 so looking forward to this nothing like old Army buddies to have good time even though were all grey beards now lol. Thanks for the info form everyone appreciate it why I've been here so long ...
