Has anyone replaced a stabilizer link (dog bone) on a '15 rgs ?
I was try replace stock for the black one and can't seem to get it lined back up.
What is the trick?
Isn't the length adjustable? How does the length of the new one compare to the length of the original? Or is it a problem getting the bolt through the hole in the new link, you don't indicate the problem.

If your reffering to the link on top front of motor when its removed the motor will move/shift a very small amount ,but its just enough to cause last bolt to not line up,been there done that.
I used a piece of 1"x3" wood to leverage motor just a tad to line the last bolt up so it doesnt cross thread .
I wedged the wood under the tank onto valve cover (used a fiber cloth between tank & v-cover) on front cyl and just used a little trq/pressure on the wood to move/ leverage the motor a tad to line up the last bolt well enough to not cross thread the bolt.
I did this coming from right side of the bike as sitting on it so would be moving the motor a tad sideways and not front to back.
Again, you should not have to manhandle / use much muscle to leverage the motor a tad to line up bolt to thread easily.
The 'trick' is to understand what you're messing with! When the bike is on the jiffy then the engine is using that link to keep itself in alignment with the rest of your bike. As lp suggests, use a lift to keep your bike vertical, when the new link should fit without any problems.
To better understand the rubber mount system of your bike, of which that link is a part, read the opening post in my bagger wobble thread.
Thanks for the replies everyone, unfortunately I've tried most everything
that was suggested. Going to sit back, take a break and go at it again a little later.

You motor must have moved quite a lot if you could not et hole/threads lined up doing whats been suggested here.
Maybe you have a defective motor mount on your new 2015 bike allowing the motor to move too much giving you problems with bolt aln.
