I use a diluted glass/surface cleaner in a spray bottle with a dry rag to get the dirt/grease off. Then I use a cleaner/polish called "Protect All" to finish the cleaning and leaves a great carnuba wax finish. Good on all surfaces except the engine black case. Wipe on and let sit, then buff dry. Looks amazing and protects too.

Polishing or rubbing compound to clean wheels
When we were kids my dad taught us to use polishing compound first and then rubbing compound if Polishing Compound didn't work on our bicycle wheels. The other kids used steel wool. Steel wool makes the finish dull.

Im terrible about cleaning bike had it for 15000 miles and never washed it. I will hit with some windex every once in a while. I tell myself every year this the year I keep it clean. My resale value might not be as great but I dont plan on selling really. When my boy hits 16(he 11) its his and I will get a new one. He gonna be fresh to death riding in to school on a street glide on 16th bday instead of a 95 Toyota Corolla
