My brackets were scraping as well with the older style floor board extenders, I replaced them with Kurykan as well and that fixed my issue for me.

I use the Tallboys brackets with Kuryaken relocators - the kind that go between the footboard and the mount, not mount and frame. Moving the brackets out doesn't make sense to me - it just makes it easier to scrape a fixed part of the bike. Moving the boards out makes for a good tell-tale when cornering because they hinge - no drama.

Recently, I did the Home Depot thing to extend my floorboards (at the end of the bracket to where it mates to the frame)... perhaps this wasn't the best thing to do :-( Granted... I haven't even ridden the bike since doing the mod...

Cool. I will look into those. Thanks

Did you use the tallboy brackets in the link I posted, or a different set? Additional info would be appreciated. Link:

Sounds like 3 out of 3 recommend the Kuryaken extenders!!! Looking into these soon. Did you use either of these Kuryaken extensions, or something different:

I'm pretty sure we are in the same boat. Not the right boat either. Lol

Use the ones in the first link for the Kury board extensions. I don't care whose brand you use, if they go between the frame and the board brackets, and you ride even semi aggressive, the brackets will touch down first.

2010 Limited with some stuff

Yes on the Tall Boys and yes on the 4588s. Fwiw, the Kuryakens would be a good place to start because the concept of moving the boards out vs the mounts still applies and should help your situation. To me, moving the brackets out is a recipe for disaster.

The Tall Boys brackets were purely for comfort. They won't help with clearance at all. That said, I ride fairly aggressively and I haven't had an issue after I gave the brackets a haircut -

Note the angle cut. It used to be squared off and I touched down a few times so I gave it a trim. No issues since.
