Only takes once and you may wish you had them. Your life , your body , your cash.
Not one bit my concern if you ride with gear or in shorts and flip flops, walmart sun glasses and no helmet.

I wear a Harley FXRG jacket with the armor. Very little difference with or without the pads. I like having it there if I need it.

Well let me say this. I have a Harley convertible jacket and the CE armour saved my back from any road rash. It is my opinion you need to wear protection that is adequate for your normal riding style/speed/antics. At the very least that would be boots, chaps and extremely durable jacket.

I have three Jackets. Mesh for hot weather, Textile for winter (such as winters are in Los Angeles), and Leather for all around use. I have CE Armor in all three. Elbows, Shoulders, and Back. As someone else said; Better to have it and not need it, than otherwise.
