It would seem like that part 70900072A is a:
COMBO ANALOG SPEEDO/TACH-5MPH/KM/H
Neat looking speedometer.
Looks like it might be for :
Fits 04-11 DynaŽ, 04-10 SoftailŽ (except FLSTSE) and 04-13 Road KingŽ models (except FLHRSE3/4) equipped with a 5 Speedometer.
Died is rather vague.
A quick google search revealed a V IN ER error reported for that unit that required a reset.
Suggestion was:
1. Pull the “MAIN” Maxi fuse.
2. Hold the “trip” button down while re-installing the main fuse.
3. Speedometer should light up and appear as though it is locked up.
4. Release the “trip” button and turn the main key switch “OFF “.
5. Turn the main key switch on then, using the trip button, verify “R LO” is displayed in the odometer window when cycling through the options.
6. Re-initialize the ECM by cycling the main key switch on 30 seconds / off 30 seconds, 3 times.
I work in a Chevy dealership and we use a company by the name of Model Electronics. They supply our clusters on a swap system, they send you a rebuilt one and you send your old one back. From time to time there are no rebuilt units from them and we can send a unit in to them for repair. Might be worth a call. www.modelelectronics.com
I had one just crap out and figured I get this one repaired as a spare...Would it be worth it......new they list for $314.
im....it died - nothing but the Red idiot light was one. The reason I put it on a thread I was hoping someone may have used someone they were happy with. I did do a google search and there a few around but just checking.
Once people join the Forum they instantly forget that Google, Yahoo, Chrome or Firefox even exist on the Internet.
Can you really blame them? Search engines only seem to show retailer links,Kardashian's stupid fat ***,and info from decades ago.At least on
most forums after suffering a bit of ridicule and criticism, you will get a real answer from a real person...
