I have read a few posts about the tour pack relocation kits. And while I don't have a tour pack to "relocate", I am curious is anyone has or knows how to add a harness for a passenger on a 14 SGS.
I know that all of the FLH's have the same electrical harness, so I am thinking that it's just a matter of purchasing the correct harness (which would end in a 7-pin comms connection) and then mounting it somewhere around the passenger seating area to allow for her to connect her headset to.
Do any of you have suggestions? Or pictures of you doing this? Thanks.
There are a couple of threads on this subject. According to these threads and looking at the electrical service manual, from 2014 and up the electrical harness for the Ultra Classic is not the same as the Street Glide. One of the guys in the UK, I believe, got a technician to splice into the harness on his SG and get passenger comms to work and I believe someone else was able to do it by using the push-to-talk module from an ultra tour pak so it would be recognized by the CAN bus.

This last thread I believe discusses the use of the push-to-talk module:
This last thread was the one that I needed to see. So in order to enable the intercom function on a SG/SGS, you need to have the CAN bus system recognize the switches being connected to the plug under the seat that the tour pack normally connects to. So I guess it is now time to buy that soldering iron that I have been putting off.
Quick question... Do the SG/SGS/RG/RGS even have the "plug under the seat that the tour pack normally connects to"?
I can build up the switch box, but I'm a bit leery about splicing into the factory wiring for warranty reasons. If there's a connector there, that's easy.
