Default Windshield bags

How do YOU keep your windshield/ dash bags from scratching up your windshield? Or am I overthinking this?

I don't have an issue with it, never noticed it either.. If it did scratch wouldn't the bag cover it up anyway?

Default Dash bag

I've never used one before, don't know if I'll like it or not. Would not like to use one for a month or two, and take it off, to see that it has f'd up my new w/ s. I like the felt idea. Are they generally padded in some way where they contact the windshield?

You might want to check where the bag sits on the painted fairing. I bought my bike used and it had a painted fairing with the same windshield bag you have and after buying the bike I took the windshield bags off because I didn't like it and never used it. When I took the windshield bah off, there was rub marks on the windshield and rub marks on the painted fairing where the bag sat. It had been like that long enough to where it actually rubbed through the paint on the painted fairing. I didn't get pictures because I ended up installing a dash pad from kuryakyn.
