I have a 2014 Street Glide. I am removing the fork to install black lower legs. I do not have the proper size of allen head socket for the drain hile in the bottom of the fork. It looks like it's a 1/2" size bolt. Helluva large size for a drain hole. Can someone confirm the size before I order a hex head socket? It may even be a metric size. Harley has both scattered around on the bike.
allens easily get rounded off- check yours has sharp edges.
If you have one that seems to fit loose..hacksaw off 1/4" and discard...the "new end" will have fresh edges.
if you have need for a large allen...make one from a bolt- pictured below is a tool for installing the oil cooler/filter adapter- which requires a 7/16" hex...like an allen- or in this case the head of the bolt is used and the wrench turns the jammed nut
if it is a 1/2 bolt, then the allen size should be 5/16"
