this thread is chock full of innuendos liking his problem to tires and batteries and comment concerning his whip being 6 years old…
Maybe I have thick skin, but I didn't see anything wrong with his letter... though it could have been worded differently and CERTAINLY excluded the quasi demand and resulting consequence. If I read that… I would think… well, then go f yourself.
Bottom line is we are all entitled to an opinion and yes... Harley is aware of many issues and have righted some wrongs (or many) for people experiencing issues beyond their ESP or even for those who never had an ESP from jump.
I would have errored on the side of caution and left it by asking the MOCO if there was any way for cost or some portion of cost to be reimbursed as a courtesy omitting comments relating to peril. Basically… if you are in a position such as the OP, then you may feel his plight… until then…
I dunno... I'm still stumped over the Rockout Rocker Locker Inserts and how damn quiet my motor is after installation of this 15.00 part. Is Harley aware of the bolt slap... bet your back porch they are... so why the foxtrot haven't then fixed this issue with a redesign.
Kudos to all the cross-post references. Wife & Kids, pick up service, etc.
I've noticed people that know a little about bikes and talk with the service people and techs with a little respect, don't seem to have many issues. I will say the conversation after people like that leave are pretty funny, even funnier when they throw you a freebie because the guy before was an *** and they know you know it.
You know that stuff they give away for a purchase over $300 -a guy was raising hell because he thought he should get "one" because he spent $270 or so, before he even gave them a chance. They told him sorry and he got all huffy and left "Boo Hoo". I got ready to leave, hadn't bought anything, just smiled, shook my head, said later, and they gave me one.
I dunno... I'm still stumped over the Rockout Rocker Locker Inserts and how damn quiet my motor is after installation of this 15.00 part.
Thanks man

Until the aftermarket for Indian or Victory grows to allow for easy and diverse mods I do not see a threat to HD's sales. Not to mention the fit and finish of HD over the others. I have read on this forum how Indian and Victory just don't feel or look quite as good. That, in and of itself, keeps HD on top.
Just my
I had a Chieftain, sold my Road Glide to get it. I kept it just over a year and only put a few thousand miles on it. It was nice but it certainly wasn't a Harley and I just couldn't get into riding it for some reason. Sold it and got back on a 16 Road Glide Special and can't wait for the next ride again now. The fit and finish was good but there was a rattle in faring and I couldn't find it, talked to the service manager and got the ole "never heard of that before" when others on the Indian forum had the same experience as I was having. I learned my lesson, the grass ain't always greener on the other side of the fence, I'll stick with my Harley's from now on.
The Trouble with that is Harley-Davidson got it right a long time ago, HD is Americas bike and its because "it is" what most of us want in a road bike. Others will come and go, but when you got it right, you got it right. Folks that wander down to Polaris for a look, don't know what they want and keep looking for it.
I wander down to the Polaris shop and bought my used Road King
You guys ever notice people nowadays revel in being a victim. They cant wait to tell everyone their sob story an how they were wronged, basking in the attention and self pity.
