I'm looking at picking up a new (or even used) Street Glide Special soon and was wondering what the differences are between the 2015 and the 2016. If there aren't big differences, then I might look at a used (few months old) 2015 and save myself a few grand.

When I got my '15 SGS, I asked the same question ... at that time, the HD rep told me that they were "literally" the same bike, only the paint schemes were changed.

If that's all, then I'm more inclined to go ahead and pick up a used '15. Found one locally that was bought 4 months ago, has 1,400 miles on it, and still has 5 year extended warranty. $5,000 cheaper than going and buying a '16 SGS without extended warranty.

Check it out before you buy, though. I think they are about 7/16" narrower. Not a whole lot of difference. I just know the aftermarket derby cover off my 2013 won't fit my 2016 SGS.
