I went from stock compression to 10.5 in my RK with Woods 555 cams. The cams seemed to love the compression. Dynoed out at 102hp 114 tq. I live in South Texas where it gets plenty hot in the summer and never had any issues with pinging. It was a blast to ride.

Check Bob's Web site for specifics, but I think most of his cams are comfortable at 10.5 to 1.

I know my two bikes that have Wood cams are both 10.5 to 1.

All depends on the complete combination

10.3 is about the end of it with those.
Some will argue you can stick them at 11.0. Nope.
Worked with that brand of cam now for almost 20 years.

Would it be better for me to stick with 10:1 compression

I had a 106 combo set up at 10.4 and it made 110hp and 128tq with a stock TB. Bike ran great until those piece of crap wiseco pistons gave out at 8000 miles. I had already traded the bike when it let go but live and learn. Again 10.4 was great for my build.

Of the 2 choices you mentioned, with gas not getting any better, 10.0 would be a safer bet.
