I know quite a few of you are using Tyre to create your routes for your infotainment GPS. I'm using Basecamp with no problems, but I wanted to experiment with Tyre. The route is saved as a "TRF" route. Will the GPS recognize those files. I'm used to using gpx.
Tyre will routinely 'save' as a trf file, however if you use 'save as' you should be able to save as a gpx file. I have used Tyre for several years now, with TomTom gps units. You should be able to open gpx or trf files (and many other types as well) and save them to all those types, including gpx.
Later Garmin files are gdx and I haven't been able to use them yet.

+1 on the save as ......
I have Garmins, and the native format is gpx (Garmin GP eXchange files) I just did a "save as" to see if gdx was there, and it's not an option for Garmin. It's also not listed as an import option.

Thanks Shooter, but I use a TomTom and use Tyre, I don't have a Garmin or Basecamp. It's my bike club pal who has the latest model Garmin, but he won't retro-save to create a gpx, for the less fortunate amongst us!

Must be a UK thing. I just bought a Nuvi 2689LMT for my car, and it still uses GPX.
I suspect all Garmins can still use gpx, but he likes to have the very latest stuff. I just don't recall which model it is - one of the bike models, for use on his new KTM.
