Can someone tell me if I can get to the fork leg hardware so I can pull each fork leg out, by just removing the lower cover beneath the inner fairing on a 10 Street Glide? Thanks
Rick, tell us what mischief you're up to! If you need to remove the entire fork legs you need access to both of the trees.
Yes, that's what I need to do. I want to pull the legs completely out of the trees and take them to the local dealer and let them change the lowers since they have the tools. I'm changing the lower legs to the Chrome ones and adding new wheels and tires this winter as part of my project. Thanks..
The 10 is a little different than my 15 - I am assuming the 10 is like my 04 - I had it off many times... actually pretty easy - best to get a service manual
first - front wheel and fender need to come off... to do this you need to pull outer fairing off to un plug the fender light.
for me I pull the ing switch - Very easy once you know how... YouTube is your friend.
Hardest part is getting that HUGE wrench on that top nut on each fork tube.. Once you get that off - all that is left is to loosen both pinch nuts and it will FALL straight down..
I am typing this from pure memory, lol but it really is quite simple
On the 14 and up - that big nut is NOT on top and makes it really easy...
It's all pretty easy except for re-assembly when compressing stock springs to get top bolt back on. Helps if you put leg in vice and have 2 people IMHO.

To answer your question... YES. No more than that cover is required to take the legs off. Except the fender of course..

OP is Only dropping the forks and taking them to the dealer for work... OP is NOT taking the forks apart...
