Default To keep, or not to keep?

I decided to upgrade from my 2005 Dyna and purchased a 2008 Ultra Classic earlier in the year. I am still learning my way around the Ultra and just the other day I came across a Vance & Hines fuelpak that is located under the seat. The settings on the fuelpak are 01 and 05. When I asked my local dealer about the fuelpak they only said to remove it ASAP because they cause more problems than they are worth. The bike has Vance & Hines true duals with Monster Rounds and has a HD stage 1 kit with a Big Bore Sucker Kit. I am asking for any and all input as to whether or not I should keep the fuelpak. While I know the Dyna and the Ultra are two different types of bikes, I do wish the Utra got better gas mileage. The Dyna averaged 42 mpg and the Ultra only gets 34 mpg.

If you remove it, your bike will run way lean because of the pipes and air cleaner...unless you are planning cams or some other engine mods in the future leave it and enjoy. If you do plan on more mods you may want to consider another brand of fuel management system...but that's a whole another thread.

Gas mileage seems a little low to me, but I don't know your riding style. Check out the V&H website to see what settings are recommended for your setup.

its really hard to do the gas mileage comparison between other people, as riding styles and environment can vary widely. however, my 110 gets about 40mpg in mixed highway/city riding. on the highway, a little higher. but then again, if the speed limit is 75mph, and i average 80mph, it drops back down to 39/40.....

stage 1 110 with powervision.

If your bike feels like it is running well, don't change anything.

You can contact Vance and Hines and let them know your bike and current modifications. Ask if the settings are still correct, and mention your mileage. They may have updated settings for you to install. No charge for this service.

Ditto, if it works, keep it, if not, you are going to have to install some other "Tuner"

Why screw up something that is running good?
The dealer probably just wanted to sell you a HD tuner, and get you
to come in for an *** greasing!

I agree with the if it runs good don't touch it. And not referring to the mileage either. Doesn't the Ultra weigh like 200-250# more? There's your mileage difference

Default Go with it

If it runs good, go with it. Consider yourself ahead of the game.

I would leave the fuelpak on the bike. Your dealer is full of crap. I have had 2 bikes, including my current bike, that have had a fuelpak and both bike run great and never had any issues with either fuelpak.

As far as the gas mileage goes, my 09 ultra classic with the stock rushmore air intake off of a 2015 with a k&n air filter, vance & hines slip ons with stock catless headers, and vance & hines fuelpak gets mid to upper 30s mpg with 50/50 city and highway riding.

Find another dealer.

The one you spoke to is a moron.
