I tried to start my 2012 road glide after a 2 week lay over and battery was at 4 volts . I charged the battery and turned on ignition and the alarm went off . I figured out that the fobs were not working and disarmed alarm manually . I have disconnected the battery many times and have never encountered this . Is there anything i can do to reassign fobs or do i have to go to the dealer for this . Thank for any help .

this happened to my wife 08' Dyna this spring, i changed the battery on the fob and it was ok after, hope this helps
After my key fob battery died and I replaced it, my bike still would not start. It seemed like the alarm on the bike did not recognize the fob. I had to disconnect and reconnect the battery on the bike. Once I did that, it seemed to reset the mating of the alarm to the key fob

different. i've never had to do this. i regularly let my batteries in my fobs die. i don't like replacing them before i have to. i am quite familiar with the override system, so i let my fob die, use the override, and replace the battery when i get around to it. never had to 'reset' like you have.
just curious, wouldn't it be easier to pull the maxi fuse as opposed to disconnecting/reconnecting the battery?
If you installed new batteries in the FOB, make sure they are not upside down.
Also, make sure they are making proper contact.
There should be no reason you need to reprogram the FOB to your bike.
Removing the bike battery and then re-installing it has no effect on the FOB's.
Agree. I had my battery changed at the dealer the same time they put in my new starter on my 2009 UC. My FOBs did not need reprogramming. They worked just fine as if the battery had never been changed.
