Default Missing CB Antenna & Post

So, I pull into the garage after a 40 mile ride and notice my CB antenna and the post it sits on are missing. The post was a little loose before I started out and I hand tightened it down, but it must have vibrated its way lose again. Both sides of the post are threaded, so I'm wondering how I can tighten it down any more than I did. Kind of bums you out when you get home from riding and realize pieces of the bike are missing. I've only had the bike since October.

My original CB antenna and stud lasted 53,000 miles before it fell off. I never noticed it was loose. When I bought the new antenna and mounting stud I screwed the stud into the tour pak and used a small allen wrench to tighten it. Then I screwed the antenna onto the stud and tightened it by hand. So far so good (3,000 miles) but I do try and remember to check it every so often.

Not uncommon.

I bought my new 2000 Ultra in October, '99.
When I left for Alaska on June, 5th, 2000 I had about 2,000 miles (I had the bike serviced before the trip) and somewhere I lost one of my "whip" antenna's on the Al-Can Highway!

I had the bike serviced (again) in Fairbanks and since I was there for a few days they ordered me a replacement.

No warranty (at that time) for missing parts!

This used to happen all the time back in the 70's and 80's. LOL

The dealer gave me the stub for free. It was only a dollar. But they wouldn't cover the shorty antenna. They said if it was the whip antenna that came on the bike, it would be under warranty, but since it was something I put on, it wasn't under warranty.
