Check between the back of fairing and fuel tank where they zip tie too tight. (Left side)My stock coaxial antenna wire was nearly cut in half there.

I have a 2012 Ultra and I know not the same radio but the same problem. Been back to the dealership and was told nothing is wrong but I to only get a few stations when away from the cities. I have a IPod unit which works fine from Iron Cross but thats not the point... The F ing radio should pick up more stations... but as always you get the standard answer from the service techs.... Thats normal.

Be Safe JIM

Thank you Smokey! - this is the kind of thing that I suspected. I'll check that right away. Did loosening the zip tie improve your reception, or did you have to get a new cable?

Retrop - nice link. But imagine having NO antenna at all. This is effectively what I have, suspecting a poor connection or a pinched cable. It could pickup close strong stations, but not a prayer at distance.

I find that the seek function on my '15 Limited Low sucks in and of itself. It screams right by stations that will come in fine if I go through the band manually. You might try that if you haven't already.

+1 on that.

The "seek" function is too sensitive to weaker stations.
The feature really wants to help eliminate weak stations from coming in.

The problem is some of them do come in quite well if you manually tune them in.
They are only skipped when in seek mode.

Default 24Roadglide LTD Poor Reception,

I took it to my dealer and they couldn't find any problem. Of course they're well within the city limits and the stations picks up fine there. Note, they said that there are no antenna connections in between the radio and the tour pack antenna.
Anyone else have similar issues? Maybe know what might help?
Mine too. stock bike, reception trying auto, find ,your going to get 3,4 channels in town and sometimes none outside the city limits.

In tracing down a static issue on my 2015 HD Ultra Limited radio, I discovered the last antenna connection (located in the trunk, under the liner) was loose. Not sure if this could be a problem for the original poster but easy to pull up the trunk liner and check that cable connection.

I know that my shorter "TourPak" antenna gets the same as my OE antenna. I tested it a couple of times going back and forth to work.

Nearly identical on where I lose the reception, with the edge going to the shorter one, by maybe half a mile
