FM reception issues
My new ultra limited has poor FM reception. I live in the boondocks about 30 minutes from Columbia SC. When I "seek" the radio finds no stations to land on - not so in my cage vehicles; they pick up numerous stations. When I ride into Columbia I don't pickup the local (strong signal) country station until I get near the city limits.
I took it to my dealer and they couldn't find any problem. Of course they're well within the city limits and the stations picks up fine there. Note, they said that there are no antenna connections in between the radio and the tour pack antenna.
Anyone else have similar issues? Maybe know what might help?

Welcome to the family of pour fm radio. Mine was so bad I got xm and don't worry anymore plus I travel across country on my bike so again no worries there either. Some use USB sticks and download songs to it. I don't own a USB stick nor music on anything for that matter. Hense the xm radio.

The radio is probably not going to work any better than it is. Weak signal in your area is most likely to blame. But you can listen to other music on that fine ride. The XM radio will have problems if you live in the mountains also. Next is Bluetooth and streaming but again weak signal strength my be a problem. This leaves you the USB and a thumb drive for the best sound and it sounds good. You put your music on the thumb drive plug it in hit shuffle and your set

Many thanks for all your thoughts. As many recommended, I've been listening to an MP3 player, which works well but I like live radio too. So the iheart radio suggestion via Bluetooth is something I think I'll be doing until I get this FM reception issue worked out.
I don't think the dealer checked the antenna connection at the radio. I think my next steps are to check that, then trace the antenna cable back to the mast to see if it's been pinched somewhere.
TcHunter - no, no internal antenna. What I meant by "no antenna connections in between the radio and the tour pack antenna" is that there are no intermediary connections between the radio connection and the antenna mast. It is a solid connection between the radio and the antenna... Therefore, short of a broken antenna cable, there are only the two connections to check.
