At the end of the last riding season I noticed my left Aux light would turn off randomly while cruising. Being winter and all I finally got around to checking out why and found the ground inside the light housing snapped off. It appears as though this has happened before and fixed by the previous owner with LOTS of solder. Well this time when it broke it broke much further down now all I have is a small portion of the nub that is riveted to the housing. I would guess it's not enough to re-solder to and too small to try and butt connect the ground to. What is the best idea here? I have half a mind to run a wire out of the housing and back into the nacelle, but that would be a PITA.
Are the aux lamps stock?
Unusual for a ground to have a problem twice unless there was a large draw on the line or the wire was rubbing due to incorrect installation.
If the forks are properly grounded to the frame, any ground point would be sufficient.
I would review the draw first.
