The Yaffe's only have 9" of pull back (that's what they claim). I have found some of their advertised measurements to not be accurate, so I am not even sure if they have a full 9". The new bars I just bought have 11" and are designed to be moved back more than the Yaffe's or their Reapers. I am reaching too far forward and the 10's are too low. My friend has 12's on his SG and they feel better but still not enough pull back. Knowing what I know now, I might have given the RG a harder look. So many more bar options.

I feel your pain. Last year I installed 12" LA Chopper FL bagger bars on my Ultra. With 10" of pullback, they are at maximum rollback and just barely within my reach comfort zone. I really wish I could use the Yaffee or Reaper style of bars, but there is no way I could be comfortable with only 9" of pullback. I plan to perform handlebar reduction surgery on my bike soon and take them down to WO578 10" level. That would give me 11" - 14 of pullback and get me level with or below the fairing. A secondary reason I'm going back down to 10" is for purely cosmetic reasons. I realize I'm in the minority on this, but I never could get used to the bars sticking up above my batwing like 2 antennas. I thought I would get used to it, but every time I look at the bike it bugs me. It's just a personal preference thing.

Another interesting thing I noticed today is my friends 15 SG with Yaffe 12's, the bars are not as wide as mine. From the point down to the step where the switch housings are is at least an inch less on his bars (maybe a little more). My bars with grips are 39" wide. They actually stick out beyond the fairing a little. Yaffe claims that all their Monkey Bars are the same width, but something is not right. Once I get the bars off the bike I will measure tip to tip on the bare bars and see what they are at. I have a feeling they are wider than their claimed 36". One of the techs at the dealership claims that he has seen issues before with QC on Yaffe products. Now I wonder if they screwed up when the made my bars.

It takes a little more time to acclimate to a new set of bars and, an adjustment of as little as 1 inch forward or backwards can make a huge difference. I run 12" apes pushed as far forward as my windshield will allow and it works perfectly for me. Ive got long monkey arms though.

^^^ The new bars I just bought are traditional apes like the ones in your pic. Should be a lot better. More like the apes I had on my FB.
