There are a lot of Rushmore bags coming on to the market as more & more people turn to stretched bags and 6x9 speaker lids. It is a widely known fact that Rushmore bags will easily fit on the 2013 & older bikes. The one hand opening, ease, & convenience of the newer bags are very appealing, especially compared to the cumbersome & clumsy method of securing the lids on the older bags. But hardware sourcing has become an issue. No one ever sells bags with hardware because they keep the hardware to put on the new bags.
I have searched various sources and have come up with five different options. From my understanding, it costs close to $1000 to buy new hardware at the dealer. What about these made in China kits? Way cheaper than HD stuff!
I am not at all a fan of anything made in China. But I have noticed that more & more parts that come across the counter at my local dealer are made in China!
From what I can tell, all these kits are the same, except for the cheapy $130 kit. I wouldn't be surprised if MOCO orders these kits from the same factory in China?
I can't answer your question about if these latches are any good but I too would be very interested in putting the new style bags on my '11 ultra. Hoping somebody that has done the conversion speaks up
I wouldn't doubt that they are the same manufacturer as the HD stuff. Been noticing the same thing you have about HD China parts. Same with bags, lowers etc...

The thing is that even if that's true, you have some form of a warranty when you buy it from HD. When you buy that crap from the "Zhao Wong" store on eBay, good luck.

Buying from Harley gets you a crowd pleasing 90 day warranty, I'd take the money savings all day long over that.
