Hi, I was wondering if the stock bars from an 09 road king would work on my 06 flhr? I know the 09 has tbw. surprisingly, I am pretty ok with my 06 bars but would like less of a wrist angle, and maybe just a little more pullback. From pictures the wrist angle seems better on the 09 bars, I think part number 55947-08 thank for the help.
I don't know how much the wrist angle changed but TBW bars are 3/16" shorter and have notches on the throttle side. A cable throttle sleeve would work fine.
thanks, yeah the cut out for the tbw should not be a issue. I was comparing photos of a 04 and an 09 and it looked like the 09 bars have less off an angle.

I am pretty sure those '09 bars carried over until the release of the Rushmore bikes. If that's the case, then I had the '09 style on my '13 Anniversary Road King. I'm only saying this because I am suggesting that before swapping to those bars (if they are the same), ride a Road King with them installed. I have never, in all my years ridden a stock bike with a worse designed handle bar than those worthless crap bars. At least to me, they were nothing short of chinese torture devices that made even 100 miles hops a miserable experience. Maybe it was just me, but after multiple adjustments, I just threw them in the trash.
thanks, I am gonna go down to the dealer and sit on a used bike to check it out. it is hard to tell from a photo. I like the more forward upright sitting position and I am trying to find bars that will allow me to sit as I like with less wrist angle than my stock bars. I was considering wild one's 513 8.5 apes, but those are much wider than I like. No offence to anyone but I really don't like the looks of apes on touring bikes. A friend mentioned the 09 heritage bars but they are like a 10 " mini ape.
FWIW the stock RK bars are probably 8" high, so 10" isn't much different.
ps I went with what Harley calls RK High or Pullback Bars (56180-08) - I find them comfortable for an upright seating position.
thanks I did not know the right side is shorter. I guess if I go that route I will be doing a little trimming. The heritage bars are an option but I would like the bars to be inline with the forks. I have read that in order for them to be comfortable they need to be angled back. I think the wild ones 513's would be nice, just wish they weren't so darn wide.
