I haven't "buried the needle" on anything since doing it routinely in the late sixties on my '68 "Formula S" 340 Barracuda. That car hauled some serious *** and also endangered my life on a regular basis. Glad I got it out of my system.
157 on my 2000 r6. Digital speedos make it much easier to know your speed. 110 is about as fast as I have taken my Fat Boy. This thread has got me thinking about a late night run on the freeway. HMMMMM....
Couldn't help myself...open strech of freeway prior to my exit, no one to pass except a pickup with a H-D sticker in the rear window, so I let 6th gear just keep going. I hit 100 and stopped, figuring that was enough for the night. Smooth as silk! Maybe not the smartest thing to do.
The bikes just love to go! I had mine up to 100 with my wife on the bike - very stable!
Hmmm... Wondering what the problem with the bike may be (L.O.L....)
I've had the Ultra loaded, with additional bag on tour pack, with the Mrs., going flat across Colorado -- and hit 112 mph. That was maxed out -- and all I've done to the bike is a Stage 1. (It was also at that time that I got the "tap, tap, tap" on the right shoulder -- indicating that I've just reached her maximum tolerance on speed, too...)
Maybe I'm fortunate on the performance of the bike... Sometimes I'm "lucky" that way....

But said he was against them, because he got a ticket in the mail. Seems his wife was driving her car and got caught, but since his name appears on the title before his, the ticket was sent to him. LOL I have read a few posts about fighting the tickets, but nothing is definative on the matter.
Oh well, until I find a way to fight it, or the damn things are removed... I will remain PO.
Wait a minute if she shoots someone with his gun does he go to jail for life?
Today I put the cruise on at 80mph and touched the up button and she went faster up to 88mph and that's it. I never knew that that was tha case. But, it must be part of the program

i am a little disappointed that the cruise control drops out at about 84mph,
Interesting!!
I have never tried my cruise control on higher speeds than 65-80.
Now I'm on a mission.
I'll have to see if mine cuts out at 84mph too.
Maybe Uncle Wille G is watching out for us. lol

Yep, about 85 for the cruise is it. I know the cruise on the last car my wife had, Chrys Concorde, will not set above 100 (dont ask me how I know )
Had the ride to 100+ once, and it will go far beyond that, but not with me at the controls on the street. I like the high performance, but only for dragging me and the wife around and from stoplight to stoplight. I am going to go to the local dragstrip later this year when they have the All HD Drags to see what it'll do. Few suprised faces when a bagger toasts some of the lighter bikes !!
The last time I cranked my up to 115 I got this horrible pain in bothmy shoulders. I diagnosed the problem in short order, my gal was beating me with closed fists, telling me to slow down.

Believe it or not it's actually a civil matter, not criminal. There is no record of it with the police department and they will not arrest you if you donât pay. It is not reported to your insurance co either. However, the city has a department that will come out and put a boot on your cage or bike right in your own driveway until you pay the fine.
I just went through this when my wife got popped for speeding doing 63 in a 45 through an intersection (San Mateo & Montgomery for you Abq folks). Since itâs my name that shows up first on the registration, I was the one listed on the citation. I tried to use the âit wasnât meâ defense, but they donât care who was driving.
I lucked out however because of a technicality. Even though she was clocked for speeding (which was quite obvious in the video) the ticket indicated that the infraction was for running a red light. So I called up and challenged it and got it dismissed.
