Ive gone an indicated 185+ on my busa (no restrictors) and an indicated 120+ on the SG. In both instances the needles were pinned. It was routine to do at least 150-160 on the busa almost every ride.

Believe it or not it's actually a civil matter, not criminal. There is no record of it with the police department and they will not arrest you if you don’t pay. It is not reported to your insurance co either. However, the city has a department that will come out and put a boot on your cage or bike right in your own driveway until you pay the fine.

I just went through this when my wife got popped for speeding doing 63 in a 45 through an intersection (San Mateo & Montgomery for you Abq folks). Since it’s my name that shows up first on the registration, I was the one listed on the citation. I tried to use the “it wasn’t me†defense, but they don’t care who was driving.

I lucked out however because of a technicality. Even though she was clocked for speeding (which was quite obvious in the video) the ticket indicated that the infraction was for running a red light. So I called up and challenged it and got it dismissed.

Whew!

Albuquerque is a great place to ride a Harley. I was just there a few weeks ago and went to a biker restaurant, I think it was on San Mateo. Good food, good beer, great waitresses.

Harley has the cruise control to stop at around 85-90 if your lucky....I guess they figure that if you want to go that fast then you need to be in control of it,....and possibly keeping it from getting stuck
Be safe guys
