Default Namz extensions

Putting apes on and the Namz kit come with the bars. It is already terminated on both ends. So here is the question,

take the female end on the extension wiring and plug it into the male end of the handlebar wiring, plug removed of course, and heat shrink or do you cut the ends off and solder and heat shrink.

Reaching into my memory, I plugged the male and female together and heat shrinked it, but that put all the heat shrinked section together, which made it too big to go into the bars all together. As I recall, I had to cut a few of the connectors off and solder them together down the harness to make it easier to run in the bars. I was installing Carlini Gangsters and I totally remember wrestling with that. Good luck!!

Im installing 12" so I hope I can pull the factory enough to get to the bottom and then start add the extensions.

I used the extensions for my 10" MBBs and just plugged them in. Doing it again, I would cut and solder. You end up with a big ball of connections all in the same place. I could have gotten by without wire extensions but I wanted to keep the factory routing.

I used wiring extensions that did not have plugs on the end so they had to be soldered. I cut the wires in a staggered pattern so I had two connections together, the next two were two inches away, the next two where two inches away from those and so on. It kept from having a wad of soldered and heat shrunk connections all in the same place.

I then used 3/8 inch braided wire loom on the wires. With the poly wire loom on them they pull right in without any lubricant. They are far easier to get in and out of the bars with wire loom on them instead of using electrical tape and pulling lubricant.

I think what I will try is pull the original wires thru first then use the terminal method and heat shrink and see how that holds together. If it pulls apart easy then I will cut and solder. I can solder just don't like doing it. Thanks

If I remember right, I plugged them together and then soldered them, and heat shrinked them. I used full 1-1/4" bars so I had plenty of room...
