My dealer supposedly filled my new tires, for free, with nitrogen. I didn't notice any difference in psi fluctuation, with temperature changes. So I just stick with standard.

If I got it for free, it can't hurt. But I wouldn't pay for it.

If you have a tubed tire works great - very little leakage and psi's stay pretty close to dead on all the time - other than that no real advantage other then putting more money in the dealer pocket - started with cars then moved to MC industry.

I did a lot of testing years ago on MC tires and the jury was still out on the advantages and disadvantages on a bike.......my 2 cents.....if you think it works use it or save a few bucks and just use plain old 'FREE' air.......it don't eliminate the need to check psi's before you go...........

Not worth the trouble for my bike, IMHO.
Proper inflation with what you have will be more rewarding.

It's OK for racing bikes, simply because it is readily available commercially and provides quick and easy tyre inflation and adjustment. For road bikes I really don't see any benefit. All rubber is porous, to a small degree, which is one reason we check pressures regularly, as well as to compensate for changes of weather and altitude.

Waste of money. But it's your money to waste.

The most compelling reason to go with N2 is to get those pea green valve caps that tell the world you're a truly insightful and remarkable person. In riding circles, these are the equivalent of a Masters' Degree in Chemical Engineering and make the statement that, "you truly know some ****" !!

In the interest of self efficacy, you need these just as badly as you need the mail order SOA patch on the back of your Woolco wife beater T-shirt and a Mahindra baseball cap.

As far as your tires go, these, nor the N2 they represent, will do an effing thing.

If I remember my high school days the air we breathe is already about 75% nitrogen and 25 oxygen ... so what's the benefit ???

Medical or food grade would be best... which is 99.999%

Unfortunately that is not what is used because it is more expensive to make. most use industrial grade, which is lower in purity...
Most nitrogen service equipment providers advise that reaching at least a 93% to 95% purity is necessary...

If you can actually attain the 93% "they" recommend, you are only changing by 14% over Gods air.

I have handled and pumped, I'll guarantee, more N2 than the rest on this board combined.

For years, I pumped up to 24 MILLION SCF per day of medical grade N2, 99.999% pure. Considering your average mc tire might hold 1 cubic foot, In a given day I pumped enough to fill twenty four million motorcycle tires... 3 or 4 days per week for years.

I won't run it in my vehicles. If it's already in there, it isn't going to hurt anything, but when, not if, when I need to adjust psi, I'll do it with shop air.

And...

I ain't running to the dealer every time I need a pressure adjustment. Riding with low PSI in the tire to the dealer is worse for them than anything else.
