For the what it's worth department, Napa#3220 x 6 x 2 (1/8"F-3/8"M) was replace by part number G606140602.

Also, I added Roger McEwan oil temperature gauge in my 05 Ultra and found that the adapter was not needed as this oil temperature gauge sensor is designed to replace the plug in the oil pan as a one-for-one replacement of the plug. No "jury-rigging" required. Nice clean install, all the way around.

Funny up-date! Just ran out the garage just to check and turned power on to the bike. The gauge returned left and stayed there after I turned it off. Snowing here too so I guess I'll have to wait till this white crap goes away to test it again.
FYI. It took a long time for the gauge to start responding. So long I started to think it was defective. Maybe I was just anxious.
Ever figure out what it was that made the gauge rest to the right? Was it the speakers? Any fix for it?

I'm installing the McEwen Gauge as soon as it gets here and would like to know the fix before I close up the fairing in case mine does the same.

I thought about adding an oil temp gauge, but I decided I didn't really want to know how hot it was running. Other than installing a cooler, which may or may not cool it sufficiently to make a difference, I wouldn't have a way of altering the outcome. Ultimately, as long as I have oil pressure, not knowing how hideously hot the oil gets is one less thing for me to worry about.

I guess ignorance really can be bliss.

The gauges do take a long time to register. I too thought my gauge was not working but after about 10-15 minutes, it moved up to 180. I was dreading having to open up the fairing again.

I installed the oil temp gauge. But after the first ride and I saw how the oil temp was, I thought so what? As long as I was moving, it wasn't ever close to being to hot. I think I was waisted my money on the oil temp gauge.

....................and oh how I miss knowing what the tempature is inside the fairing is too. LOL

A cooler will add to your peace-of-mind and will cool the oil 20-30° after the thermostat opens at 185° (HD Premium). If you don't want to see the oil temps skyrocket in summer, this will insure that they won't rise nearly as much.

Got my oil cooler on last night. Still waiting on the oil temp gauge though. Maybe it'll come in today...

Think the ambient temp gauge is stupid too. Had the oil temp gauge with oil cooler installed as part of the deal when I bought the bike.

I went the expensive route with mine. Replaced all the stockgauges with the HD spun aluminum gauges and while i was doing that went ahead and had a buddy paint my inner to match. Will post a pic tonight. Love the gauges. Only now I don't have a gauge to tell me if it's hot out when I ride !!!
