Default Stator Replacement

My Stator is leaking oil from the rubber grommet on the motor case. I have tried to apply black RTV to no avail and have to replace it. It works fine but the leak is driving me nuts!

Question: Does anyone know what the amp output is on the stock stator for a 2010 ultra? Does anyone have the Accel 50 amp stator?? Any comments help. Basically trying to figure out if I should just replace it with another HD stator or go to the Accel 50 amp stator. Thanks

More is better... in most cases. Or, some cases?

Either way, maybe go with a new voltage regulator too.

That stinks. But if you have to change it, it's not a hard job at all. Did mine last year along with the regulator.
There is a little trick to make it easier to change and more info if you do a search.
You have to pull the outer primary, but you don NOT have to pull the inner, which makes the whole job MUCH easier, if you do the following.
There is a little extra casting material that was left on the outer primary (inside the casing, unseen...) that stops you from pulling the stator off. It's only about 3/16's and comes off real easy with a dremel, etc. Cover the area with cloths and keep it clean. Very easy and much easier than pulling the inner primary.
It took us about an hour and a half including beer drinking and no drama...lol.
Easy...hope it works out.
ps I went aftermarket stator...my original was scary fried...

Try a sealant called "The Right Stuff" it has worked for me. It isn't cheap. I clean and dry the grommet then pull it up slightly to get the sealant under the edges and then seal all the way around the plug. I have used it on a couple of bikes and it worked.

I would drain the primary and brake clean the plug from the inside. Then I'd high temp silicone that thing from the inside and outside. I'd never replace a working stator over a leak. Not on my dime anyway. Now if it was warranty that's another matter.

This is what I would do too. I would reuse the primary gasket also if you don't tear it when taking it off. I have reuse this gasket multi times without leaks.

AHHH! Thanks to all. This will be my second trip into my primary. I originally thought the leak was from the primary gasket. But nope!. I have "the right stuff" sealant. I think I will seal the new one inside and out. Why replace the regulator? Thanks to all.
