Default First overnighter

Talked wife into a road trip to ST, Louis MO. this weekend from South Central IN. Fri& Sat. night. Question, other than the tool kit that came with the bike and a spare qt. of oil, what else do I need to pack? I have Hog map and cell phone, 10k miles on 06 ultra. I don,t like to be stranded. Any suggestions??? Thanks Dan

Three weeks ago made about the same trip. Left Columbus Indiana went south on 135 to Corydon stayed all night. Next day rode into Kentucky and down to the Land between the lakes area after filling up with gas there took off for just this side of ST. Louis. Stayed at my brothers in Highland Ill. and the next morning drove back to Lafayette IN. and the to Columbus again. Great trip, no problems at all with the bike. I loved traveling on HWY 50 across the two states.
We went 1006 miles in three 1/2 days. I checked the oil before I left and it was still on the full mark when we returned. Only took tool kit that comes with bike.
.357, Debit card and my wife.

Never, ever, tell anyone that you are carrying.

Trust me, you will never know until it is too late.

And Indian friend of mine told me once that he never wanted anyone to know he was upset with them.

Until they looked down, saw their blood on his blade, as their nuts hit the ground.

My thoughts exactly.

I find keeping duct tape and cable ties a must, all the time. And since you will be parking at a hotel/motel, if you can't get the bike in the room (which I suggest), you may want to bring along a rotor lock, or a big chain and lock. On a trip last year, I just chained my bike up to awning outside the front door of a hotel. Didn't ask anyone, just did it. Had no trouble. Also, for me, I always have at least a pocket knife, and for longer trips, I carry a gun. Also a good idea to give the wife an extra key and fob (if you have one), just in case you lose yours. JMHO
