Default Changing exhaust question with O2 sensor

I'm replacing my exhaust today on my 15 SGS. To remove the stock pipes the instructions say to disconnect the front and rear O2 sensor. I'm not sure where this is and if it's required?

Follow the wires off the exhaust pipe to the connectors by the frame under the right side cover. Those are you o2 sensors. Remember which one goes in which hole. One is black connector the other is grey. Iirc grey goes to front hole.

Unplug the grey and black plugs under the right side cover, then cut zip ties holding them to the frame. They are easy to spot and the only plugs under the right side cover. They will be one on top of the other. Remember the wire routing and make sure you route them back the same way and zip tie them to the frame so they do not contact the exhaust. Remove them from your exhaust pipe once you have it removed and put them into your new pipes. Make sure they go into the new pipes the same as your old ones. Grey in the front exhaust pipe and black in the back exhaust pipe. This is very important.

Fuel Moto has a good video on YouTube that shows how to replace the head pipe. It will show you what you need to know.

You gotta unplug them the make them free down to the collector. They have to be able to spin to remove them from the collector, make sure you are careful running the wires back up how they were to prevent cooking them on the exhaust

A little Anti-seize on the threads of the sensors is always a good idea.

But DON'T get any on the sensor probe itself as it might mess it up and you'll end up having to buy a new one

Also they are fairly delicate and expensive, treat with special care, handle them like a spark plug that cost over 100.00 each if they get cracked

Thanks for the input, I wasnt aware these are so sensitive. What is the anti seize for exactly? I assume you just spread it on the thread?

I guess this brings an important question, I am cautious of over tightening or not tightening enough, should loctite be used on those?
