New tool...what a difference
Getting ready for the MB bike rally next week. Went to the local HD shop in Rocky Mount NC. Finally got the air pump for the air shocks...cant beleive it took me 3 years to get this tool. Anyhow put 12 lbs on the rear shocks and 20 lbs on the front. The service manual says 25lbs and 35 lbs max respectively) for a EG Ultra. I figured that is close enough to start with. Rode in to work this morning....WOW what i difference. The bike rode better, seemed to be more stable. Best 30$ i have spend in a while...the cost of the air pump.
So all of you that have been considering purchasing a pump...do it...you will not be dissappointed.

There are two 'air valves' located behind the right side saddlebag. Remove the bag. The front valve goes to the front shocks the rear valve to the rear shocks. Just connect the air pump and give it a few pumps. The built in gauge is a great feature. Here is the HD link to the tool: Part #54630-03A

My 1985 FLT had both front and rear air shock adjustersas did my 1990 FLHS, but my 2003 Ultra only has anairshock adjuster on the rear.
My 1990 FLHS had the front airshock adjuster under the left screw off handlebar grip endcap.
That did get some strange looks from bypassers while I checked or adjusted the ride.
