Destination Harley has 2 shops now.. .one in Fife/Tacoma(Main Dealership) and the other in Puyallup/Graham (Outlet Shop/store). best dealership I've found in WA. I've been to all of 'em in the Seattle area .... and Destination is by far the nicest people and go the extra mile for service. Would highly recommend 'em to anyone looking for good service, great salespeople, parts .... and clothing/accessories. Sometimes it is hard for me to make a choice which one of destination harley shops to go to. They are both awesome.
Good discussion. I have had a similar experience with my local dealer in Eden Prairie Minnesota. Bought two bikes from them, one for myself and one for my wife. Great people who simply love Harley Davidson motorcycles. When our sales guy (who knew very well that my wife wanted a new one) was talking to us during an event, he really did not care if I was buying something or not. It is his job to provide for his family and sell something to make money, but our conversations were always like family. Of course when we were ready, we bought it from him. By the way it was 10 degrees below zero that day and they sold 5 other bikes. Can’t even ride for another 2 months. Everyone we ever dealt with were super friendly, not because they thought it would help sell me something, but because they were actually nice people. Willing to help in any way they can. When they say welcome to the family when you buy a Harley that is what they are talking about. It must be something that corporate Harley actively fosters in their dealerships because this type of service seems pretty consistent. Have spent an enormous amount of money with Harley, it is a life style that we have chosen and we love. Great bikes. Great brand. Great people.
I wishI had a good experience to share like that. I will say that the guys that work in the service dept at my local HD shop have made efforts to be as kind as possible. Me being new to Harley, they haven't seemed to mind answering questions for me. That is why I LOVE this forum. Always at least one guy out there to help me out. It leaves me with a good feeling about our fellow man. I just wish you jokers lived closer to me. I would love to go hang out and watch you guys do a build, even get a lil' dirty myself. I have always loved working with my hands, I just don't have all the knowledge I need to do all the mods I would like to perform myself. I am learning, but seeing something in person would help me out.
Know what you mean Papa, they've got clubs with every name you can think of, those of us who are willing should gather in our own geographic locale and form our own posse. Now that would be a club.
went to my dealer today that i bought my SG from for the 1000 mile service and stage 1,took a while so me and the wife sat around talking to workers and other riders(normal trip to the dealer)sunny day out and gettin stage1 really wanted to go ride started looking like rain out and us without our raingear,so they get my glide done 5 mins. later im paying and its starts to pour(great) so we hang around for while waiting for storm to pass, wife gets them look up radar on net (rain everywhere just my luck) found out just how good my dealer is two different salesman offered to leave my bike and they would take us home(i couldnt do that i live 60 miles from the dealer but they dont mind) long story short my wife hates rain so im about to bite the bullet and buy 2 new rain suits at 100 a piece and salesman comes over says if your gonna ride dont buy new suits we have some we use take these and just bring them back next time your in shop. To me thats a big deal, how many non HD riders can say they got this kinda service from their dealer i used to be and i never got this kinda service from anybody except HD, thats why you buy harley just thought someone might like to hear this,oh yea, (Bumpus HD in murfreesboro,tn is where i bought)
Nice post - all the dealer bashing gets old. I have had similar good experiences with my dealer. Thanks!
Good to hear your story. I have done my business with Mischler's HD for years and never could understand all of the dealer hate I see out there. They have never done me wrong and gone out of their way to do right. I think a lot of the dealer hate comes from bad customers myself. Even the few dealers I have dealt with while on the road have been outstanding.
