Ordered a kit off eBay. Didn't like the hex head bolts they sent, not to mention they were too long. Went to my local Runnings store and bought some chrome hardware: two 5/16-24X1" button head hex drive screws, one 5/16-24 lock nut, and two 5/16 chrome washers.

Looks good. I did the same but with ss bolts. Fits the same with the tie rods screwed all the way into the rod. I put an extra thick washer between rear joint and lever, to make the shifter rod action straighter, closer to parallel with the engine, and not at such an angle. Possibly putting less stress on the rear shifter lever arm and trans shaft since it now moves straight backwards and forwards and not at an angle, removing lateral stress.

Wheres the front shaft shifter cover??

I like using nylon lock nut instead of the locking washer.

Yeah, that's what the two chrome washers were for: put them between the rear joint and the lever.

Decided to take the heel shifter off the other day and I don't have a cover for it yet.
