I also have a 2011 Limited, and have a similar problem with the front wheel. They're "chrome contrast" with black painted areas between the spokes. I'm getting real bad corrosion bubbling underneath the chrome plating, causing it to peel pretty badly in places. I have not had a bead sealing issue (yet). Oddly, my rear wheel is fine.
I bought my bike used from an independent power-sports dealer. I found out after purchase that the previous owner must not have taken very good care of it, including not cleaning it very well. The dirt and brake crud held in moisture, leading to corrosion.
Even so, most everyone who owns them says the "Knuckles" wheels are a PIA to clean. I know a few guys who replaced them with take-off Street Glide rims.
I did a little research, and found quite a few similar quality control complaints about the same wheels in the same age range. I cant tell if it's poor quality chroming, or crappy aluminum used to cast the wheel. Either way, HD isn't going to replace them.
I do not know if the non-chrome plated Ultra Classic wheels have the same corrosion issue.
I'm just going to buy a set of 2014 and up Impeller rims this spring. I like the look better anyway
Extended warranty just ended in Oct of 2015 (5 year), but I was told they would not have covered it. However I looked at the Extended contract and I had purchased the wheel option within the warranty. Glad I decided on the used polished aluminum wheels at $600.00 for the set. Looked up wheel prices, $1500.00 for set, not including labor.
