I have the Shuberth C3 Pro and Shoei Qwest. They both fit great for me. The warmer months, the C3 Pro has good ventilation. If it gets real warm, I flip the front piece up or open the shield and use the drop down visor. The Shoei, not so much on ventilation.

You beat me to it, but was gonna suggest a bike store that has a good selection of helmets to try on. Even within the same brand they have different helmets for different shape heads.

Head to a dealer and start trying on helmets. Try some of the brands you haven't worn. There has to be something that will be comfortable to you. JR

Beat the foam down with your fist, worked for me.

UPDATE: just got back from CycleGear. Nothing fit any better. So I called Shoei customer support and they said I can purchase a 5mm thinner padding for it and surprisingly they told me I can compress the foam shell with my thumb up to 1/16" without compromising the helmet.

Cutting the foam out compromises the integrity of the helmet. I would recommend finding one that fits without doing that. Good luck

Me too, HJC/Harley half helmet. It has the mushroom look but its DOT. Fits great and comfortable but in a photo it looks stupid. I know it's safety first but!

They get hot if you are stopped, for a long light for example. But soon as you begin moving there is a breeze over the top of you head and down across your face. At least that's how mine, FF with vents, feel.

If you're talking about CycleGear in Matthews, they sell crap.
I use 2 helmets and very happy with both.
For around the town, I use the AK-88. Its a beanie but if you search on here, nearly everyone is happy with it.

For long rides, I use the Bell Pitboss. It's heavier than the AK but man it's a great helmet. I like the pull down sunvisor. I'm able to use my shades and the sunvisor or 1 or the other. There's an adjustment in the neck of the helmet. I'm between a medium and a large. I went with the medium and can modify the size to fit me perfectly.

Since you're in Charlotte, goto team Charlotte Motorsports on Freedom Drive (Yes I know, it's not the best neighborhood), they keep the Pitboss in stock. You can try one on for size.

I used my Pitboss today to ride up to VA to Fox Leather Creek for some new gloves. This is a great and inexpensive helmet.

Yes, the one in Matthews - And they are crap. Nothing but Bilt which is garbage. I was also told ride now in Concord has a good selection.

I have the AK-88 and love it. I think mine is about 3 years old now and aside from the rings on the straps rusting it's holding up well.

I ordered a thinner liner for the j-cruise last night. It should be here tomorrow or monday and I'll see if that fixes the issue. If not, i'll ride around to these other two stores. Thanks for the Pitboss suggestion. I wasn't aware of that one.
