Would have bought a HD touring bike first but my goldwings were fun and my VTX1800c was bad a$$ and crazy fast. Also prolly should kept my 06 Standard.
I'm in the content crowd as well. Part of the fun is changing some of the things to make it your own.
For those that wished they added stuff on day one, some dealers let you add stuff within 90 days and still be covered under warranty, at least my dealer does that. Food for thought for those getting new.
I buy mostly used motor vehicles. When I got this FLHTCU 2 months back, i'd have had the dealer sit on it and demo that the lights and brake lights worked as they should. I tested them with me sitting on it with him observing and guess what? He lied. Same thing happened when I rented a UHaul truck back in the 90s..."signals work?" "Yeah, looks good!" Some people will say anything to get you out the door, and don't give a damn about your safety.
Other than that, I am having a lot of fun going through the bike and making it my way with only the mods I like.
