Congrats on the new bike! But, you should consider the tourpak for the wife. I'm like you, I HATE the look of the TP. But, it'll make her feel secure + when traveling 2-up, you'll need the extra luggage capacity. If I were a girl, I wouldn't ride an SG w/o at least a backrest. I love the lines of the SG, but to give it that sleek look your passenger is falling off the back before you even let out the clutch. I've got the QD TP for my King + it flat ROCKS! When she's not on, it's not on, 10 second install.

Welcome to the neighborhood! Congratulations on your new scoot. I also came from a VTX prior to my FLHTC. I have to admit the VTX was a sweet bike. But once my butt hit the saddle on my Harley I will never own anything else! I had the VTX 1800R retro. Enjoy!!
