While riding my new RGU Rushmore the other day I thought I'd check my oil pressure and since it has no analog gauge I had to switch to a screen on the infotainment center. Anyway when I pulled it up it registers 26 at highway speed. I thought it sounded low so I called the dealer and they say it should be between 30-38 at hwy speed and can drop as low as 5 at idle and I should bring it in.
The next day they say come get it there's nothing wrong with it, Harley Tech Support now says it should run 30lbs +-5 lbs. They also say they got a couple bikes at the dealer with similar oil pressure. When I get to the dealer they can't find one bike with similar pressure. I can't find one other person running oil pressure that low either. Now when cruising around neighborhoods it only runs 21-23 it 3rd-5th gears at 2500 rpm. It still runs about 26 on the highway. It only has about 300 miles on it.
Some people say, don't worry about it, it won't hurt anything, but I put a lot of miles on my bikes and run them pretty hard. What say you, what kind of pressure do you run?
BTW I know it's under warranty but one of the reasons I bought it was because I have some big trips planned this summer. If I'm broke down in the middle of nowhere it being under warranty will be little consolation.
At the 2500 rpm's it should be up there also. That is not with in the parameter they told you, I would take it back. Or you can run it till it drops more. But with a new bike, I would be worried. How many miles do you have on it? I don't think I have ever seen oil pressure go up after break in. As for going up after a oil change, only if the oil change was over due by a lot of miles & there was no more damage because of it. Or the injectors were leaking & fuel was in the oil. May want to smell your oil. Good luck
Just got done with a Fuel Moto 117 build and I put in an S&S TC3 camplate and oil pump I'm only getting 30 psi at cruise and at hot idle I'm still getting 20psi. I called S&S they said its fine their pumps put out high volume Harleys have roller and needle bearings they don't need a lot of oil pressure.

Hot oil idle pressures can drop away to 5 psi or less. This too is normal.
I've got 2012 SG and had oil pressure problems. Mine runs about 30psi on the at cruise. The problem I had wasn't the motor but the gauge and the oil sending unit. My gas gauge never has worked right. I just do the math when traveling. Harley's gauges suck! What makes you think the screen is any better? Change your oil now and watch. Too much oil pressure on these motors is as bad too.
