Default Stock AC with slip ons
Are any of you running the stock air cleaner with a set of aftermarket slip ons? I ask because I recently bought an 09 Road King with Rush slip ons and stock AC. I am wondering what the long term ramifications are if I leave it that way. I ran a stock AC on my 04 Electra Glide with Screaming Eagle slip ons with no problem other than the heat issue. IS the 96 inch motor ok running this set up? I would like to hear from all of you but especially anyone who runs stock AC with slip ons with a lot of miles/years.

I ran v&h hi-output slipons with stock a/c for a while with no tune. It didn't seem to hurt it at all. I had a little bit of popping.

I've had the Rush Big Louies with stock AC and head pipes on my King since new. I'm looking into a decat and a stage 1 soon.

Tuners are used to compensate for a lean condition caused by an increased airflow. To increase airflow, both the intake and exhaust must be altered. While a free flowing exhaust will flow more air, the stock air cleaner will flow the same, thus keeping the targeted a/f ratio constant. When both components are changed, more air flows through the engine, but the ECM only supplies enough fuel for the stock components resulting in a lean condition. It's not about year or cubic inch displacement, or mileage.

I run Rush slip on pipes with the stock air cleaner, no issues.

I have American Custom slipons with no ECM mods. I've ran it about 5000 miles that way. Sometime this year I will go to probably a V&H FP3 when I go with an intake mod.

I've used Screamin' Eagle slip-ons with the stock air cleaner for many years with no problem.

I have had my SE Street Cannons on for a year and a bit (20,000+ miles) and no issues other than a bit of decel pop every now and again.
