no but minor spot where trans meets motor. like a drop of oil was placed there every thousand miles? Have to really look hard..at this point far from a problem. And if you keep your bike clean will never even see it sereiously I would keep an eye on it and run out and get a 7 yr warr
Update-today after a 10 mile ride parked bike in garage and notice after a few minutes there was one drop of oil on my garage floor. looked under bike and saw weeping spot where trans meets engine on bottom this time(first post was top). wiped spot clean and now am a little concerned more so if it gets worse. If I washed the bike more often would have never seen it. Know the question it how would/do you proceed. Let dealer know for the record and keep an eye on it. Or If it gets bad lets say in 4 or 5 years then bring it to dealer.Dont want to miss any good summer riding if bikes in shop. Can this cerrect itself with time?Sorry for nit-pickin but thats what this forum is for
I would let them know right away. Even though the weather is good and you could miss a day or two riding time, I would demand it be taken care of under warranty. Oil leaks are a pain in the a$$. They make a mess of the undercarriage and leave their mark everywhere. What you don't know is how much it is leaking when being ridden. It will not get better over time, only worse. I wouldn't want to be riding with a constant film of oil being leaked near the rear tire. May not be that bad now, but you never know when it could get that bad.
let me tell you about my experiance. this is a problem and you should take it back to the dealer. what the problem is on the older models the oil line is on top. in the 07's they put the oil line in the cavity between the trannie and the engine. i dont know exactually what kind of pipe it is or tube. but one of my o rings or seal is broken inside that cavity. therefore you will have a leak in betweenthe engine and trannie. its not a "serious" problem but the way i look at i have an 07'
brand new harley it should not have a leak at all!!!! i pick it up from the dealer either tomorrow or thursday. and since they are tearing it apart and will have to drain all the fluids i am having them put in amsoil in all 3 holes. it will only cost me the oil for them to put it in. since it is a "warrenty" fix and they have to drain the fluids.
