Brake light malfunction

Brake light malfunction

Light works with handlebar lever, but not with foot. Switch I assume? Any past experience wouls be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Mine did that this year just wiggled the connectors at switch and its working. I should give it a good cleaning.

What year and model?

There was a recall on the rear switch.

Depending on year and model, there was a Rear brake switch recall.

Recently my rear brake lever would not actuate the brake light so I bought a new switch. The local Harley dealer would not sell me the switch because they said it was a recall item and that requires them to replace the switch. I bought the switch from Ronnie'smailorder.com for $20-25.00 and did not have to go through the hassle of getting an appointment , being out of a ride for 24 hours or having to arrange for rides to drop off and pick up bike. Avoiding those problems was well worth the cost to replace the switch myself.
