Dealer called on my Wide Glide Bars on my Road Glide
On my 07 Road Glide- Installing Wide Glide Bars.
1. Stating that I will probably have to buy a new pair of my Kurakyn ISO Grips from them since the left one will probably not come off.............What!?!!?!?
2. I asked them to adjust the bars down so they are about an inch (towards me) from the stock bars. He said I would probably need to do the final adjust on my own. I even offered to come out at lunch today to give them an idea where I need them.
3. Can I adjust the bars (after they are on the bike already) by just removing the 2 side front cover bolts? I think that allows me access to 2 bolts each on the bars to loosen enough to adjust up/down.right?????I just don't want to have to remove the ignition and all the crap to just move the bars up/down.
RE: Dealer called on my Wide Glide Bars on my Road Glide
you can if you remove gauge cover and loosen the two top bolts at clamp and pull down. bars will move. you dont always have to loosen the lower two bolts..that worked on my bike. Good Luck

Demand that the dealer let you come down during lunch. That's why you are paying them. When they are done you shouldn't have to do anything but ride. As far as grips, mine came off fine, but I wasn't going to use them again so it's hard to say. I've heard people using air compressors, and a modified hanger to get them off. If you have stock grips, I would change them out anyway, but that's just me.

Well the dealer called. The grips came off OK and back on. Imagine that!
Barswent on with no problems. They did not need to install a new front brake cable or clutch cable either. You know they would have if there was even a "chance" of it needing done.
Hole thing cost me $104.00 to swap the Wide Glide Bars on.
