Default Straight pipe fishtails
2016 ultra been thinking about going with straight pipe fishtails and keeping the cat. How do you think it will sound. The cat should keep the sound down some . What do yall think?

my experience with fish tails is they look great and sound awful

I had fishtails on my 01, so no cat, but it was so loud and I lost tons of low end power. Very noticeable power loss. It looked awesome tho. I wish I could find some that could save my power with the looks and a deeper rumble. They were really pingy sounding, and torture for my passenger.

I have the V&H slip on fishtails, sounds great, no tinny sound, no loss of bottom end power. (2012 Ultra Limited)

That could of been my problem, I bought the cheap eBay special... they also blued after the first 10 miles. I would like to invest in a good set. Samson or V&H.

Actually they are not that loud, I believe they have a bit of a baffle in them that could be removed if your into the loud sound. Throaty sound is how I sound explain it.

Hell yes they will be quieter with the cat. I ran that exact setup on my 13. You get the full on fishtail rasp, but at half the volume of an open system. The fishtail sound is unique. You either love it or hate it.
