Yeah, I think I've been talked into it. Once the bike gets back from the shop (coolant leak) I'll measure up and order. My slipons are 4" but I'm keeping the baffle in so I want to mock something up and get a good measure of what size will fit to my liking in the baffle.
Did you ever add these? Thinking about pulling my baffles and going with these on my 4" slipons.
With the largest TT made being the 258, a 4" opening (without baffles) may be too large. Check with Kevin and if this is the case, you may be forced to fabricate lollipops using an eye bolt with 3 1/8" to 3 1/2" washers through bolted at the eye to form a lollipop.
I've never made these myself and only seen em in pics. There would be vibration issues for sure so you'd want to tack weld or at least red loctite everything but the eye bolt shaft for sure if you do make your own.
TT's are the way to go, however, if the size is right. For all they cost, you save all that effing around and they can't come apart plus they're properly coated and look good in the pipe.
I've got the 15 RK and I couldn't make up my mind what slip ons to go with when I first bought the bike so my buddy made the suggestion about the tti's being they were very affordable, so I did but, I also decatted my head pipe, removed my baffles and packing and got a pretty good sound for the money and the bike runs cooler. Can't tell if I lost torque or not, im not having any problems with the way the bike is running for now. I may change slip ons down the road but still can't decide what i like.
I have looked into those and everyone that uses them seem very happy. I'm hoping to hear from a few people that have first hand experience with the Thunder Torque inserts since they are a very low cost for (as advertised) the result that I am looking for. At least if they don't work out I'm really not out much $. Big City is a possibility, but if it comes to that, I might end up going with a different muffler all together. The Freedom had a nice look and sound, but not super impressed with the quality.
I tried the "W" shape. After I had cams and decatted head pipes, the bike was LOUD. I wanted to quiet things a bit. The TT did that and the sound became "deeper", but lost some response and mid-range power. No matter how I changed the map, I never got it dialed in. I took the TT's off, went back to my old tune and boom! Just like a new bike. I wear ear plugs when going for longer rides.
I am not trying to bash TT's..... they just didn't work out for me. Maybe a new dyno would have worked.... but another $450 was not my goal.

I had the (now illegal) SEST done after my TTI's were installed and a SE 204 cam put in. I couldn't be happier.
My BO now sounds and lopes like a HD should and over 2800 rpm (owing to the 204's) I've got torque all day long. I lost a bit of torque off the line but 6th gear now has real meaning.
