Hey guys, how is everyone tonight. I have some questions/issues with my progressive monotubes. I installed them about about 2000 miles ago. I lowered the front end 2 inches. Did as the instructions said, just installed the longer and shorter springs on the bottom with no c clip spacers. I haven't been happy with the ride, the bike bottoms out on bumps. Sounds like metal on metal. I pulled them apart tonight planning on raising it 1 inch. Figured i would see if anyone else has had the same issues.
I like the lowered look but don't like the ride, i was throwing around the idea of throwing 1 c clip and box springs on the bottom. Any input or concerns. I appreciate the info
I have mine lowered 1" and they still bottom out, hoping to pull them out this year and install something different. This is my second set, progressive replaced my original set because of a broken plastic piece and they were lowered 2" and they were way better than the newer version. Wish I had the first version back. Prolly gonna install the legend axeo's this time around
Hate work, you have the front dropped 2 inches and put 1 c clip in? I just finished doing the same thing, i'm about to take a ride to work, see how it feels
I just installed the 944s for the rear and it seems to be performing far better than the stock crap it had..Just love the way it absorbs the little ripples on the road and so I thought I'd do something about the fronts too..I had the Progressive Monotube in mind as well.I do not intend to drop the height but listening to the feedback here on the bottoming out issue is a little worrying.

I think you are suppose to put all 3 clips in when you lower it. I know my instructions said that. You might want to call Progressive about this. When I called and talked to a service tech he was very helpful.

I don't think I had the same kit. But it did lower the front 1" but with going from an 18" to 19" rim the visual difference was not noticeable. But, just like everybody, the difference from OEM to the monotubes is night and day for handling....
Just another thing MoCo does that rips off riders but should be standard equipment.
I have the Progressive kit as well. Went with their lowering kit. I installed 1 clip and am running a 21 inch wheel. The ride in my opinion is greatly improved. I have had zero bottoming out issues but again, I am running a 21 inch wheel. I would not install 3 clips since the ride will be a lot harsher.
